Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) was established on the 11th of September 2003, when the late Minister, Prof. Kadar Asmal, launched the landscape for the then Further Education and Training (FET) sector at our Alexandra campus. The name “FET” was later changed to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) by the current Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande. The Ekurhuleni East TVET College is one of the 50 TVET Colleges in South Africa, the College is situated in the eastern region of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Ekurhuleni is a Tsonga word meaning ‘place of peace’ thus the College is named after this beautiful name. The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) covers an extensive area of about 1 975 Km2. The EMM comprises nine towns which Alberton, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Edenvale, Germiston, Kempton Park, Nigel and Springs. Included in these towns are 17 townships (EMM IDP) 2015-16) Geographically, Ekurhuleni is uniquely situated. It borders the eastern part of Johannesburg and the southern part of Tshwane. Ekurhuleni West Technical, Vocational, Education and Training College (EWC) is a public institution regulated by the FET Colleges Act no 16 of 2006, as amended. It was established in terms of the Further Education and Training Act, Act No .98 of 1998, declared as such by the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education (Gauteng Province) in terms of a Provincial Gazette Extraordinary (dated 7 December 2001).

South West Gauteng College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), formerly, FET college, operating under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in terms of the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended. The College is accredited by Umalusi and several Sector Education and Training Authorities (Seta’s) to offer education and training, mostly in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4). Some programmes are offered in the Higher Education band i.e. the N4 to N6 levels. At over 30 000 enrollments, the college is one of the biggest colleges in the country
Tshwane North Technical and Vocational Education and Training College (TNC) is situated in the Greater Tshwane Metropolis of Gauteng. It consists of a corporate (Central) Office situated in the inner city of Pretoria and 6 Campuses: Mamelodi; Pretoria; Rosslyn; Soshanguve North; Soshanguve South and Temba. TNC five (5) campuses are with 25 KMs away from the central office, Temba Campus being the furthest at 41 KMs away.
Tshwane South TVET College (TSC) is a registered public Technical and Vocational Education and Training College in terms of the Continuous Education Training Act (CET Act No.16 of 2006). TSC is a merger of three former Technical Colleges namely Atteridgeville, Centurion, and Pretoria West, as Gazetted in 2001 (Notice 7311, Gazette No 240 of December 2001). In 2006, TSC gained its fourth Campus (Odi Campus) from the Orbit TVET College as a result of the rezoning of the Provincial borders.
